India – By July 2021, India plans to secure and distribute between 400 and 500 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, said the nation’s health minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, on Twitter Sunday. With 250 million people expected to be reached, there have been more than 35 million cases confirmed globally. “Our government is working around the clock to ensure that there is a fair and equitable distribution of vaccines once they are ready,” replied Vardhan.
The United States surpassed more than 7 million cases. India, Brazil, and the Russian Federation follow with 6.6 million, 4.9 million, and 1.2 million cases, respectively. By the end of the month, the Health Ministry hopes to receive a list of workers that is broken down into key demographics in which healthcare and frontline workers will receive first priority.
