Early Monday morning, a woman broke into actor Robert De Niro’s Upper East Side apartment and stole presents from under his tree. The burglar, identified as Shanice Aviles (30), was arrested at around 2:45 a.m.
De Niro was in his apartment at the time of the burglary. But there was no physical altercation, even after De Niro went downstairs to check out the commotion.
The arrest was immediate, as the police were already following Aviles because of her connection to six prior burglaries. Police spotted her entering De Niro’s home. They followed her to discover she was taking De Niro’s presents and putting them into a bag.
